Pool Rules

NO alcoholic beverages or glass containers. 


NO eating or drinking inside the pool or around the edges. 


NO gum chewing in the pool or around the edges. 


NO diving into the pool anywhere. 


NO pushing, shoving, splashing, dunking, shoulder-riding, or horseplay. 


NO talking to lifeguards while they are on duty. 


NO person with skin infections, open sores, or rashes are permitted in the pool. 


NO running on deck or walking in or on the gutters. 


NO wearing flippers while on deck.

 
NO large flotation devices or large pool toys. 


NO pets. 


NO thongs, cut-offs, or street clothing. Proper swimming attire required. 


SMOKING/VAPING – There is no smoking or vaping anywhere within the fenced area of Somerset Swim Club. Permitted in designated area only. 


DEEP END TEST – All swimmers under the age of fourteen are required to take the Deep-end test annually. During this test, the swimmer MUST swim two widths of the pool, and tread water for two minutes without a break. 


CHILDREN 12 AND OLDER, who have passed the Deep-end test, may enter the pool without a parent or guardian. All others MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian that is not only a member but is sixteen or older. 


CHILDREN AGED 0-5 MUST always be accompanied by an adult aged eighteen and up while on Somerset Swim Club property. 


SWIMMING DIAPERS – All small children who are not toilet-trained MUST wear swim diapers. 


ALL SWIMMERS MUST shower before entering the pool. Long hair MUST be tied up. 


MEMBER GUESTS – All guests MUST have a Guest Waiver, one per season. Guests under eighteen MUST have Guest Waiver signed by their parent or guardian before entering the pool and MUST always be accompanied by their Host Member. Host Members MUST be sixteen or older. 


Weather


The outside temperature MUST be above 70 degrees Fahrenheit for the pool to open and to stay open. Pool may be closed due to lack of participation or low temperature. 


If there is thunder or lightning, all swimmers MUST exit immediately and stay away from the water for 30 minutes. If the storm persists, the lifeguards will then decide regarding keeping the pool open. 
 

Both the Men’s and Women’s restrooms double as storm shelter if needed.

3 SHORT WHISTLE BLASTS – EMERGENCY, EXIT THE POOL NOW 


1 LONG WHISTLE BLAST – ALL CLEAR, WAIT FOR LIFEGUARDS TO ALLOW SWIMMERS BACK INTO THE POOL 

 


NO DAY PASSES

VIOLATIONS BY MEMBERS OR GUESTS

 
FIRST OFFENSE – VERBAL WARNING


SECOND OFFENSE – WRITTEN NOTICE THAT MUST BE SIGNED BY THE ADULT MEMBER OR ADULT SIGNER FOR SINGLE CHILD MEMBERSHIP.


THIRD OFFENSE - SUSPENSION FROM POOL FOR ONE WEEK


FOURTH OFFENSE – LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP FOR ENTIRE SEASON (NO REFUND)
